The Muddy Mary is a Huddig 1260C equipped with our custom-designed tracks, developed after we received a special request from a customer in Scotland.
The Huddig Muddy Mary is simply an outstanding machine for projects such as overhead line work, underground cable installation and brush cutting.
Our unique specially-designed tracks significantly reduce ground pressure, making it possible to work in areas with poor weight-bearing strength. The Muddy Mary is especially useful wherever you want to minimize the impact on the ground.

A 15-tonne machine equipped with our unique specially-designed tracks exerts the same ground pressure as a 3.7-tonne machine with a tyre dimension of 52 cm. Conversely, a 15-tonne machine with a tyre dimension of 52 cm exerts the same amount of ground pressure as machine weighing 59.6 tonnes that is equipped with our special tracks.
Remote Control
With Huddig Remote Control, the operator can control both the machine and the backhoe unit. Remote control makes it possible for the operator to perform the same work while standing outside of the machine as easily as being inside, and without compromising any of the machine’s outstanding handling features.
Working conditions will be greatly improved because operators will now have the option of working outside if the weather is nice. A fantastic overview of the job is also now possible - extra important during work with the exposure of underground cables, for example. The Huddig Remote Control option suddenly makes it much easier to oversee jobs that require extra precision.
The remote control unit is ergonomically-attached to a strap that sits across the operator’s shoulders or to a belt that fits around the waist. It is fully-adjustable and can be fitted to the operator so that it is always comfortable and easy to use.
With Remote Control, the maximum speed is 6 km/h. Emergency stops are located outside of the machine. If the remote control unit loses contact with the machine, it will stop automatically.
Remote Control is an extra feature that can be ordered for all our machines via your nearest Huddig dealer, or directly from the Huddig factory where it can be built directly into the machine. All Huddig models can be equipped with Radio Control.
